Read the ground first

From your opening drive to the final putt, each hole asks a different question. The fairways fall gently towards the water, and the greens reward an approach that lands short and runs on.

The key is not always distance. Sometimes it is patience. Sometimes it is positioning. And sometimes the best shot is the one you choose not to take.

Play the second shot from the tee

Before every tee shot, look at where you want to play your approach from. A ball in the right part of the fairway — even twenty yards shorter — makes the green far more welcoming.
